Chesed
Once a week, on Monday afternoons, our students set out to give of themselves and help others in various situations of need. Some students study to become certified "medical clowns" and then work with patients in hospitals in order to distract them such that scared or uncooperative patients can learn to cope with difficult situations. Others work with disabled children, or food packaging for the impoverished, or soup kitchens, or other worthy projects throughout Jerusalem. Of course, we encourage our students to engage in Chesed all week long, as giving to others is a sure-fire way to develop oneself and become sensitive to and cognizant of the needs of others.
